The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons gathers more than 230 members across party-political lines from parliaments in over 80 countries globally. The members constitute the core of the organisation and their efforts are central to the work of realising more peaceful and sustainably developed societies by action to prevent and reduce armed violence. The membership base has a wide geographical distribution, with approximately 40 % of members being from Africa, 35 % from Latin- and North America, 18 % from Europe and nearly 10 % from the Middle East and Asia. 71 % of members are male and 29 % are female.
