The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons’ (PFSALW) over-all objective is to contribute to the achievement of more peaceful and developed societies by parliamentary action against armed violence to increase human security. The Forum contributes to the advancement of the global disarmament agenda and provides a space for parliamentarians to meet and join forces with other stakeholders and actors. The participation of parliamentarians in fora for exchange has enormous potential for forging synergy effects. Lessons learned and findings can be shared with other MPs and contribute to a knowledge base that exceeds above and beyond that of individual means. The Forum provides such a platform for parliamentary action on the prevention of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) -related violence by focusing on capacity-building, policy-building and awareness-raising.

 

Membership in the Forum is based on individual capacity and commitment. Only members of parliament can become regular members. The sole requirement for membership is to share the Forum’s objective. As a member you are entitled to apply for participation  in the activities of the Forum, contribute to and receive the Forum’s publications (such as policy material and newsletters), as well as to request support from the Secretariat.

 

Your personal information is stored safely by the Forum for as long as you want in line with EU legislation on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Forum will use your personal information to send information about the organisation’s work. Your personal information will not be shared to third parties.
