Connecting the Dots: Supporting the 2030 Agenda, the Arms Trade Treaty and the United Nations Programme of Action on Small Arms implementation through increased parliamentary engagement and action in international processes

Together with the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations and the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), the Parliamentary Forum will host a side event at the Preparatory Committee for the 2018 Review Conference of the United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects (UNPoA).

Please join us for this panel discussion to highlight the preliminary results of the “Connecting the Dots” regional seminars in Latin America and Africa. The role of parliamentarians in theimplementation of the 2030 Agenda, the UNPoA and the Arms Trade Treaty will be discussed, focusing on the priorities, challenges and achievements of parliamentarians in armed violence prevention in relation to international conventional arms control instruments and synergies between the instruments.
