12 okt THE PARLIAMENTARY FORUM ON SMALL ARMS AND LIGHT WEAPONS IS TURNING 20 YEARS!
Year 2022 is a special year as it marks the 20th Anniversary of the Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PFSALW). 20 years have passed since a group of parliamentarians from Latin America, Sweden and Spain convened in the Spanish Congress to form the organisation. Currently, PFSALW gathers over 300 members from approximately 100 countries across party-political lines.
While PFSALW has significantly contributed to strengthening parliamentary action for the prevention and reduction of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW)- related violence since its foundation, the global context of armed violence remains severe. The world of today is marked by armed violence and conflicts, underlining the need for continued efforts to support parliamentary action for more peaceful and sustainably developed societies.
Would you like to contribute to PFSALW’s continued work on strengthening parliamentary action on armed violence prevention for human security and peace globally? PFSALW welcomes donations through Donorbox on its website, enabling swift and secure international donations, as well as Swish for Swedish residents.
