01 apr EIGHT BIENNIAL MEETING OF STATES (BMS8) IS COMING UP!
The Eight Biennial Meeting of States (BMS8) on the United Nations Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (UN PoA) is coming up on 27 June-1 July and will take place at the United Nations (UN) in New York. The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (the Forum) is much looking forward to the meeting, and is planning to participate actively by sharing the conclusions from its ongoing project “Connecting the Dots: Enhancing implementation of the UN PoA and the Women, Peace & Security and 2030 Agendas – through increased parliamentary engagement and action in international processes”. The project engages parliamentarians as part of the run-up and preparation for BMS8 through regional activities in Southeast Asia and Africa, where key parliamentary priorities and recommendations are identified regarding enhanced implementation of the UN PoA, the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and 2030 Agendas.
