01 jul OUR SIDE EVENT AT THE SEVENTH BIENNIAL MEETING OF STATES IS COMING UP!
The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (the Forum) is pleased to host the virtual side-event titled “Connecting the Dots: Enhancing implementation of the UN PoA and the Women, Peace & Security and 2030 Agendas – through increased parliamentary engagement and action in international processes” on July 29 at the side lines of the upcoming Seventh Biennial Meeting of States (BMS7) on the United Nations Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (UN PoA). The side event is realised in cooperation with the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and with the generous support of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (SweMFA) as a sponsor.
The side event is taking place within the Forum’s Connecting the Dots project supported by the United Nations Office on Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), and its Trust Facility Supporting Cooperation on Arms Regulation (UNSCAR). Parliamentary recommendations on actions for enhanced implementation of the UN PoA identified at the Forum’s two recent regional webinars for Southeast Asia and Africa will be presented and discussed at the side event.
