NOW AVAILABLE –> REPORT FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR IN GENEVA, SWITZERLAND ON THE TOPIC OF THE ARMS TRADE TREATY LINKING TO WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY!

The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (the Forum) would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all participants who joined our international seminar in Geneva, Switzerland in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on 13-14 December 2023, entitled “Reducing threats to international security: Mobilising parliamentarians globally, with focus on Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and Middle East, for enhanced universalisation and implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty”. Warm gratitude also to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada for funding the seminar and to the IPU for co-hosting the event.

At the international seminar, parliamentary recommendations to enhance universalisation and implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) linking to the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) perspective, were identified by parliamentarians from Asia and the Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Europe. Warmly welcome to learn more about the conclusions from the seminar in our newly released report here: http://parliamentaryforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Final-report.pdf
