WE EXTEND A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW INTERN, KHOT BIOWEI KUOL

Khot is originally from South Sudan and had spent 15 years as a refugee in Kenya before arriving to Sweden. In Sweden, he got an opportunity to pursue a Bachelor Degree in International Relations at Malmö University. Currently, as part of the degree mentioned, Khot is embarking on an internship at the Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PFSALW) through the Swedish Development Forum’s (FUF) internship program. The prospect of gaining a deep understanding of the intersection between small arms & light weapons (SALW), human rights and sustainable development is truly exciting for him.

  • I am particularly eager to delve into PFSALW’s activities and comprehend the concrete impact achieved through direct collaboration with parliamentarians. As a student of International Relations, my studies have equipped me with a heightened awareness of the escalating social issues and physical imperilment caused due to the uncontrolled proliferation of SALW. I look forward to applying the knowledge I have acquired in my academic pursuits to make a meaningful contribution to the vital work undertaken by PFSALW. This internship presents an invaluable opportunity for me to further explore the complexities of these issues and actively participate in addressing the challenges associated with the uncontrolled SALW, Khot stressed.
