20 jan WELCOMING OUR NEW INTERN SEBASTIAN LITHANDER
Sebastian Lithander is currently studying the master’s programme in Politics, Security and War at Försvarshögskolan in Stockholm, with a focus on War Studies. As part of his education, he has been given the opportunity to do an internship at the Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PFSALW) through the internship program hosted by the Swedish Development Forum’s (FUF)
– I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to take part in the work of PFSALW and to delve into the issue of how uncontrolled proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) relates to the matter of developing sustainable societies. What has become familiar to me during my time at Försvarshögskolan is how armed conflicts are enabled and exacerbated by the availability of SALW. I am looking forward to observing how the efforts towards safeguarding human security and peace are being pursued outside of the textbooks, says Sebastian Lithander.
