NOW AVAILABLE: REPORT AND PARLIAMENTARY ACTION PLAN FROM REGIONAL SEMINAR IN AFRICA ON PARLIAMENTARY ACTION TO PREVENT ARMED VIOLENCE

The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PFSALW) would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all participants and panellists who joined the regional seminar in Africa on June 21-22 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, as well as warm gratitude to the co-host the National Assembly of Cameroon for the fruitful collaboration. PFSALW also would like to thank the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs’ (UNODA) Trust Facility Supporting Cooperation on Arms Regulation Fund (UNSCAR) for the generous financing of the seminar.

At the regional seminar, updated parliamentary recommendations on actions to take for the implementation of the United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UN PoA) linking to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda and the 2030 Agenda were identified based on the regional Parliamentary Action Plan (PAP) from 2019, which was reviewed and subsequently adopted by the parliamentarians in a revised version.
