PFSALW´S PERMANENT OBSERVER STATUS TO THE INTER-PARLIAMENTARY UNION APPROVED

The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PFSALW) is honoured and pleased to announce that its request for observer status to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was approved by the Governing Council of the IPU during the 143rd IPU Assembly on November 27 in Madrid. PFSALW much looks forward to the closer collaboration with the IPU, which is vital to contribute to more peaceful and sustainably developed societies.

Board member Hon. Vincent de Paul Emah Etoundi and Secretary General Karin Olofsson participated at the 143rd Assembly on behalf of PFSALW between November 27-30, taking part in several key meetings. Representing PFSALW, Ms Karin Olofsson participated as speaker in the panel discussion on “Parliament’s role in addressing the risks of diversion in arms transfers”, which took place yesterday at the Assembly and where she shared expertise and recommendations from PFSALW’s membership.
