THANK YOU ALL FOR COMMITTMENT AND PARTICIPATION – REGIONAL SEMINAR IN THE PAN AFRICAN PARLIAMENT – PARLIAMENTARY ACTION PLAN
The Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons is pleased to have realised its second seminar in cooperation with the Pan-African Parliament!
Parliamentarians, representatives from the UN and civil society from the region exchanged experiences, results, challenges and lessons learned on parliamentary action to prevent armed violence for sustainable peace and development.
The Parliamentary Action Plan adopted in 2018, outlining parliamentary actions and commitments towards the universalisation and implementation of the 2030 Agenda, Arms Trade Treaty and the United Nations Programme of Action on Small Arms, was revised and adopted in its amended version concluding this seminar.
At the Forum we are thankful for the two days full of insightful and forward-looking discussions. We are looking forward to accompany and support continued parliamentary action based on the conclusions of the seminar – in the spirit of the African Union initiative to Silence the Guns 2020.
