GENERAL ASSEMBLY & THEMATIC SEMINAR STARTS IN BRUSSELS

Today the Parliamentary Forum’s General Assembly, in collaboration with the Flemish Peace Institute, kicks off in Brussels. The upcoming two days, which in addition to the General Assembly, where a new Board will be elected for the period 2018 – 2020, will include a thematic seminar on “Prevention and Reduction of Small Arms and Light Weapons related violence – Parliamentary Action for Peaceful & Sustainably Developed Societies”. This is an invaluable opportunity to gather members of the Forum from around the world to exchange ideas and increase knowledge for continued work for the achievement of peaceful and sustainably developed societies.

The General Assembly is the highest organ of the Forum, realised bi-annually and it is constituted by the regular Members, presided by the Presidium of the Forum. The Assembly provides strategic advice on future priority guidelines to the Board, elects the Board Members, discuss and approve the bi-annual report of the Forum, among other functions.
