Thank you all for your vital commitment to raise awareness and take action to prevent and reduce Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) related violence!
2018 is an important year for continued work to promote human security and sustainable development. We would like to share our latest newsletter with a brief summary of the latest news from the Forum:
- The Forum released its 15thAnniversary Publication with insightful contributions and lessons learned from present and former Board members, members and relevant key actors.
- Preparing the ground for the Third Revision Conference at the United Nations on the Programme of Action regarding illicit SALW, a “Connecting the Dots” a regional seminar was held in the Pan-African Parliament and a seminar will be held in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in May.
- The Forum will launch a third round of the social media campaign “Words Over Bullets” for increased awareness on the importance of reducing and preventing armed violence globally.
- A seminar in the Swedish Parliament will be held on May 30 with the purpose of discussing the prevention of SALW violence from a Swedish and international perspective.
