CONNECTING THE DOTS – Media coverage of our regional seminar in the Pan-African Parliament

On March 2-3 the Forum successfully carried out the regional seminar “Connecting the dots: Supporting 2030 Agenda, the Arms Trade Treaty and the United Nations Programme of Action on Small Arms implementation through increased parliamentary engagement and action in international processes”in South Africa in collaboration with the Pan-African Parliament.

The Forum is very pleased to observe that the event was covered on nearly 20 occasions in several regional and national media outlets. Raising public awareness about the negative impact of uncontrolled proliferation of illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) on #HumanSecurity and #SustainableDevelopment is a key priority of the Forum, as well as an important component for parliamentary action. Increased awareness is an important step towards preventing and reducing armed violence for the promotion of more peaceful and sustainably developed societies!
